There's a commonly held belief that all ink is the same. Unfortunately nothing could be further from the truth. Cheap toner and ink cartridges are usually just filled with a coloured spirit-based liquid rather than actual ink, making documents prone to have poor quality finishes and then fade. Even worse, these liquids damage printers, leading to costs far beyond that of a decent cartridge.
